Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs chicken wings, separated into drumettes and wingettes
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup buffalo sauce (such as Frank’s RedHot)
  • 1/4 cup honey 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Optional: Blue cheese or ranch dressing for dipping

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and pepper.
  3. Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss to coat evenly with the flour mixture.
  4. Baking: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the wings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 30-40 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy. Frying: Heat oil in a deep fryer to 350°F (175°C). Fry the wings in batches for 6-8 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.
  5. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the buffalo sauce, honey, apple cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine.
  6. Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
  7. In a large bowl, add the cooked wings and pour the honey buffalo sauce over them. Toss to coat evenly.
  8. Serve immediately with blue cheese or ranch dressing for dipping, if desired.
